Part-Time Like and Rate Task Job Scam
A WhatsApp message offers Rs 500 to Rs 5,000 a day for liking videos or rating products. The first small payouts are bait before larger deposits.
A stranger messages you offering part-time work: like a few videos, rate hotels or products and get paid the same day. The first task is easy and a small amount, perhaps Rs 50 or Rs 150, really arrives in your account. That payout is the hook. It builds trust so that later, when you are asked to deposit money into a 'task account', you do not stop to wonder where all of this leads.
How the scam works
The scammer sends a mass message, often copied from a recruiter style template, saying that a company needs people to boost views. A 'manager' adds you to a chat and shows screenshots of other people receiving money. You are given your first tasks: follow a channel, like a video, send a screenshot. The small payment arrives promptly by UPI, and it feels like proof the job is real.
Then you are introduced to a second stage with a higher reward. A group admin says that to unlock premium tasks you need to put in a deposit, which will be returned with commission. Other group members, who are part of the scam, post messages celebrating payouts. The deposit amounts creep up. Each time, the screen shows your balance growing, but only inside the scammer's page.
The payoff comes when you try to withdraw. A rule appears: a 'tax', an 'unfreezing fee' or another task must be completed first. Each demand is described as the last one. The numbers on the screen are not real money. Whatever you put in has gone to accounts controlled by the scammer. When you stop paying, the group goes quiet and you are removed.
An example of what you may see
Example chat (invented): 'Hi, we have part-time work from home. Like 5 videos and earn Rs 150 now. Daily income Rs 3,000 or more. No investment needed.' Later: 'Congratulations, you are selected for the premium task group. Deposit Rs 5,000 to start and get Rs 6,800 back after 3 tasks. Your balance is 41,000 on the screen. Pay Rs 8,000 clearance to withdraw.' The small payout, the premium deposit and the clearance fee follow the same script every time.
This example is written for illustration. Real messages change their wording, names and links all the time.

How Safeavio helps
Safeavio Sentinel's scam check can read the chat text you paste and point out signals such as easy daily income, a deposit to unlock earnings and a fee to withdraw. The link check helps you see whether a task page is a lookalike or shortened link. Money Shield asks you to verify before you send money. It cannot see inside the task page or recover payments, so stop depositing and report.
Check it before you tap or pay
Safeavio Sentinel is a made-in-India Android app: paste a message or link, or scan a QR code, and get a plain verdict with the reasons. It helps you spot a scam; it does not promise to stop every one.

Questions people ask
Why did I really get paid at first?
The first small payment is a cost the scammer accepts to earn your trust. It is returned many times over by later deposits. A payout early on does not prove a job is genuine. Reporting helps others avoid the same trap.
Is any like or rate job genuine?
Real employers do not pay for likes and then ask you to deposit money. If a job asks you to pay before you can earn or withdraw, treat it as a scam, whatever the group chat says.
Can I get my money back by paying the fee they ask for?
No. The fee, tax or unfreezing charge is another way to take money. There is no genuine account holding your funds. Stop paying and report to 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in. If it feels rushed, that is itself a warning.
