Urban Company is an Indian app for booking home services such as cleaning, salon, repairs and appliance servicing. Because many people use it, scammers pretend to be Urban Company on phone calls, in apps and on WhatsApp. This page lists the lies they usually tell and how to check before you act.

How to verify it yourself

Bookings, professional details and payments sit inside the Urban Company app, so confirm each one there. Pay through the app rather than to a person's UPI ID. A service OTP or start code is meant for the professional at your door, to be shared in person, not on a call. A refund is credited to the source of payment, and approving a collect request only moves money out. Professional sign-ups follow official onboarding, and legitimate costs are shown there.

Quick checklist

Do not tap links or call numbers inside the message.
Open the official app, or type the official website yourself, and look for the same notice.
Never share an OTP, PIN, CVV or password with anyone, including "staff".
If money moved, call 1930 and your bank at once.
