Fake Union Bank of India calls and apps

Vyom lookalike apps, police-notice video calls and document-fee loan offers that use the Union Bank of India name, explained simply.

A public-sector bank with savings accounts, loans, deposits and the Vyom mobile banking app. Because many people use it, scammers pretend to be Union Bank of India on phone calls, in apps and on WhatsApp. This page lists the lies they usually tell and how to check before you act.

How to verify it yourself

Vyom should be installed from the official store only, and any alert about your Union Bank account can be checked inside it. Open the bank's website by typing the address. Police do not conduct investigations through a video call, so a caller who says that is not who they claim. A pension record can be updated at the branch or through the bank's own channels. Do not send photos of your passbook or card to strangers.

Do not tap links or call numbers inside the message.
Open the official app, or type the official website yourself, and look for the same notice.
Never share an OTP, PIN, CVV or password with anyone, including "staff".
If money moved, call 1930 and your bank at once.
