How to verify it yourself

Log in to the bank's official mobile app or type the website address by hand and look at your alerts and service requests there. A real update request will show up inside your own account. Use only the helpline printed on your passbook or card, never a number sent by message. Staff do not need your OTP, UPI PIN or card details to credit anything, and apps arriving over WhatsApp should not be installed.

Quick checklist

Do not tap links or call numbers inside the message.
Open the official app, or type the official website yourself, and look for the same notice.
Never share an OTP, PIN, CVV or password with anyone, including "staff".
If money moved, call 1930 and your bank at once.
