Fake CoWIN and health portals messages and links

Fake health portal texts about vaccine certificate errors, Ayushman card fees, locked ABHA IDs and booster slots. See the lines and verify.

CoWIN and Ayushman-style health portals are government sites for vaccination records, health IDs and public health insurance cards. Because many people use it, scammers pretend to be CoWIN and health portals in SMS, WhatsApp and email messages. This page lists the lies they usually tell and how to check before you act.

How to verify it yourself

Visit the official CoWIN site or the Ayushman Bharat portal by typing the address yourself, and check eligibility on the government site instead of a message. Cards and certificates are free and are issued by the government or empanelled hospitals, with no processing fee through a link. Do not share an Aadhaar OTP with a caller, even a person calling as a health worker. Claims are handled by the hospital's insurance desk.

Quick checklist

How Safeavio helps

Paste the message or the link into Safeavio Sentinel (or share it to the app) and it shows a plain verdict with the reasons: urgency, a money demand, a lookalike address or an OTP request. It checks the text you give it and cannot promise to catch every scam.

Check it before you tap or pay

Safeavio Sentinel is a made-in-India Android app: paste a message or link, or scan a QR code, and get a plain verdict with the reasons. It helps you spot a scam; it does not promise to stop every one.
