Tell someone about Sentinel. Earn a commission when they buy.
Every account has one referral code and an invite link. When a person you invited buys, you earn a share of what they actually paid, and so do the two people above you in the chain. Payouts are requested from your account and paid by hand.
How it works
Open Referral in your account to see your code and your invite link, /signup?ref=YOURCODE. A friend can type the code at sign-up. A code that is wrong never blocks sign-up. If they forgot, a code can be added once, before the first purchase.
Level 1 is the person who owns the code. Level 2 is that person's own referrer, and level 3 is the referrer above that. The chain is fixed when the code is used and never changes. Your own code, or a loop, is refused.
The commission is worked out on what the buyer was really billed, after volume and promo discounts. By default that is the taxable value, before GST. A fully discounted order earns nothing. Renewals earn too.
Default rates, hold and payout minimum
Rates, the hold period and the minimum payout are settings that our staff can change. A change affects future sales only: each commission keeps the base, rate and amount it was created with. These are the defaults; the Referral page in your account shows the current values.
| Setting | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 (the code owner) | 10% | Of the commission base |
| Level 2 | 3% | The code owner's own referrer |
| Level 3 | 2% | The referrer above level 2 |
| Upper limit | The three together may not exceed 50% | A guard on the settings, not a target |
| Hold before it can be paid out | 14 days | A commission is "on hold", then "available" |
| Minimum payout request | ₹500 | Also editable by staff |
A worked example
- 01The buyer is billed ₹5,900 including GST.The 50% promo code takes ₹5,900 off the ₹11,800 list price.
- 02The taxable value is ₹5,000.₹5,900 includes 18% GST. The commission base is the taxable value by default.
- 03Each level earns its share of ₹5,000.At the default rates, level 1 earns ₹500 (10%), level 2 ₹150 (3%) and level 3 ₹100 (2%).
- 04Each commission waits out the hold. After the hold (14 days by default) it becomes available. If the invoice is credited before then, the commission is reversed.
Wallet and payout requests
Your Referral page shows a wallet worked out from your commissions. Payment itself is made by hand by BIDUA Industries Pvt Ltd; there is no automatic bank transfer.
- Available is what has passed the hold and has not been reversed, minus payouts you have requested or been paid.
- On hold, requested and paid are shown separately.
- If a commission is reversed after it was already requested or paid, the balance shows an Adjustment and your available balance stays at zero. Future commissions repay it first. Nothing is hidden.
- Ask for at least the minimum, and no more than your available balance. One open request at a time.
- Give a UPI ID, or a bank account with IFSC and the holder's name. We store the destination encrypted and show only a masked copy.
- Our staff approve or reject the request (a rejection comes with a reason). The company then pays by hand and records the bank reference.
- You can cancel a request while it is still only requested.
When a commission is created, each person who earns it gets one e-mail with the level, the amount and a masked label for the buyer (never the buyer's name). That e-mail needs the mail service to be switched on.
What the programme does not offer
- Automatic bank payouts: every payout is made by hand after approval.
- Tax deduction or tax filing on your behalf.
- Different rules per product.
- Fraud scoring beyond refusing your own code and loops in the chain.
- A cash value for a code, or any guaranteed amount of earnings.
A commission is income for the person who receives it. Any tax on a payout is the recipient's own responsibility; we do not deduct or report it for you. Ask your own tax adviser how it applies to you.
