Telegram task scam
Telegram task scam pays small amounts for easy online tasks like liking videos, then demands larger deposits you never get back.
Telegram task scam: A Telegram task scam offers easy paid work, such as liking videos, rating hotels or boosting products. You get a few small payments at first. Then you are told to deposit larger sums to unlock bigger earnings, and the money disappears when you try to withdraw.
It often begins with a WhatsApp or SMS message offering part-time work from home. You are moved to a Telegram group, where a handler shares tasks and screenshots of payouts. The first few tasks really pay, perhaps Rs 100 or Rs 200, which builds trust. Then you are placed in a "prepaid" task that needs a deposit, promised back with a commission.
The deposits keep growing. Each step comes with a reason: a mistake in the task, a frozen account, a tax, a level upgrade. Real employers never ask you to pay to get paid. Stop at the first deposit request, do not borrow money to "finish" the task, and report the account in Telegram and on cybercrime.gov.in. Call 1930 if you already paid.
Tips
- Treat any job that asks you to deposit money first as a scam.
- Do not borrow or take a loan to unlock the next task.
- Take screenshots of the chat and payments, then report on cybercrime.gov.in.
