Part-time job scam
Part-time job scam promises easy daily income for simple online work, then asks you to pay deposits or fees you never get back.
Part-time job scam: A part-time job scam offers easy money for small online tasks, such as reviews, likes, data entry or order boosting, through a message or group. After a few small payouts, it demands deposits, fees or "unlocking" payments, and the money vanishes.
The offer often arrives from an unknown number on WhatsApp or Telegram: "Earn Rs 3,000 daily working from home, only 30 minutes." There is no interview. You are asked to register on a site, complete tasks and watch a balance grow on screen. A small first withdrawal really works, which convinces you that the work is genuine. The lack of any interview or skill test is itself a clear warning sign.
The balance on the website is just a number that the scammers control. When it grows large, they ask for a tax, a deposit or a fee to withdraw. Real employers pay you and ask for no money. Stop at the first payment request, keep your screenshots and report on cybercrime.gov.in. If you have paid, call 1930 without delay. Genuine work never asks you to pay first, and talking to family helps you see the pattern.
Tips
- Do not pay a deposit, registration fee or "unlock" payment for any job.
- Verify employers through their official website that you type yourself.
- Report the number and group and keep screenshots.
