1930 is India's National Cyber Crime Helpline for online money fraud. Call it quickly so the bank can try to freeze the money.
1930 helpline: 1930 is the National Cyber Crime Helpline number in India. After an online financial fraud, calling it quickly gets your complaint recorded so that banks can be alerted and attempt to freeze the money before it is withdrawn or moved on.
The first hour or two after a fraud matter most. Fraudsters move money through several accounts within minutes. When you call 1930, give the amount, time, the transaction reference, and the account or UPI ID you paid to. The details are passed to the banks involved so they can try to hold the funds. Calm and quick is the best approach.
Calling does not guarantee that money is recovered, but waiting makes it less likely. After the call, file the report on cybercrime.gov.in, tell your own bank through its official channel, and keep your records. For danger to life or a crime in progress, 112 is the emergency number. Do not search for other helpline numbers; fake ones exist. Stay calm, give clear facts and keep your phone free for any callback.
Tips
- Call 1930 the moment you realise money was sent to a fraudster.
- Keep the transaction ID, time and recipient details ready for the call.
- Follow up by filing a report on cybercrime.gov.in.
