Fake BSES (Delhi electricity) messages and links

Fake BSES texts about late-night disconnection, overdue bill links, cancelled subsidy and solar instalments. See the lines and verify.

BSES Rajdhani and BSES Yamuna are electricity distribution companies serving large parts of Delhi, with bills, rooftop solar and an app of their own. Because many people use it, scammers pretend to be BSES (Delhi electricity) in SMS, WhatsApp and email messages. This page lists the lies they usually tell and how to check before you act.

How to verify it yourself

Your CA number is printed on your bill. Use it in the official BSES website or app, typed or installed by you, to see the current bill, subsidy status and meter details. A late night SMS is not how supply is cut, and the nearest BSES office can confirm anything in person. No employee asks for a UPI PIN, a remote app or a personal payment, because a PIN is only for sending money, never for receiving a credit.

How Safeavio helps

Check it before you tap or pay

Safeavio Sentinel is a made-in-India Android app: paste a message or link, or scan a QR code, and get a plain verdict with the reasons. It helps you spot a scam; it does not promise to stop every one.
