Fake Loan Recovery Agent Scam by SMS
How it looks by SMS, the red flags and what to do.
On SMS the scammer has only a few lines to work with, so they use a deadline, a threat or a prize and a link that must be tapped "now". Fake Loan Recovery Agent Scam is one of the ways this shows up: Callers threaten to shame you or message your contacts unless you pay a loan, sometimes one you never took. Some are scammers with no real claim.

- A request to call a number, install an app or share an OTP.
- Several near-identical messages arriving together from different senders.
- A sender name that resembles a bank, courier, tax or utility, or an ordinary mobile number.
The scammer or an unregulated lending app gets your phone number and sometimes your contacts, usually from an app that asked for access or from a leaked list. The scam check can review a threatening message you paste. Safeavio does not block calls, and it cannot judge whether a debt is valid, so keep records and report. Keep records. Report it all.
