Mobile banking

Mobile banking is your bank's official app on your phone for balances, transfers and cards, protected by an MPIN and device binding.

Mobile banking: Mobile banking means using your bank's own app to check balances, send money, block cards and more. The app is linked to your phone and SIM, and you open it using a PIN, password or fingerprint. Always install it only from an official store.

Banks often tie the app to your registered SIM and phone number, so a new phone needs fresh set-up. This protects you from someone who only knows your account number. The app may also let you set transaction limits, switch off international use, and lock your debit card if it is lost. Treat the app like the key to your bank branch, and keep it updated.

Fraudsters send fake bank apps as APK files or push you to install a screen-sharing tool for "help". Once installed, they watch your screen or read messages. Download your bank app only from the official store, keep your phone updated, and never give anyone remote access while your banking app is open. When in doubt, uninstall unknown apps and ask your bank how to confirm a genuine link.
