Fake MobiKwik calls and apps

Fake Zip recovery callers, wallet-backed loan offers and recharge reversal tricks using MobiKwik's name, and how to verify them.

A wallet and UPI payments app for recharges, bill payments, money transfers and a buy-now-pay-later credit line called Zip. Because many people use it, scammers pretend to be MobiKwik on phone calls, in apps and on WhatsApp. This page lists the lies they usually tell and how to check before you act.

Lines used in fake MobiKwik calls and apps

A caller says your Zip account is overdue and threatens a recovery visit unless you pay a person directly
A person offers a loan against your wallet and asks for an advance fee
A voice asks you to install a quick support app and allow screen overlay
A caller claims a wrong recharge was done by you and requests a UPI collect approval to reverse it

How to verify it yourself

Check Zip dues, wallet balance and KYC status in the official MobiKwik app or on the website you type yourself. Dues are paid inside the app and show a clear statement, so a person asking you to pay them directly is not part of the service. Support requests are raised in the Help section of the app. A fee to unlock a credit limit is a warning sign, and a reversal of a recharge never comes from approving a collect request or sharing a wallet PIN.

Quick checklist

Do not tap links or call numbers inside the message.
Open the official app, or type the official website yourself, and look for the same notice.
Never share an OTP, PIN, CVV or password with anyone, including "staff".
If money moved, call 1930 and your bank at once.

A caller says they are from MobiKwik. Is it real?

Treat it as unverified. Hang up and contact MobiKwik through its official app or the number printed on your card, bill or official website. Never install an app or share an OTP because a caller asked.

Can MobiKwik ask me to install an app on a call?

Be very careful. Scammers use screen-sharing and fake apps to watch your screen and read OTPs. Install apps only from the official store listing that you find yourself, never from a link or a caller.
