Fake Central Bank of India messages and links
Account freeze, Cent Mobile update and pension delay texts using the Central Bank of India name. See each pattern and the check to do.
A public-sector bank headquartered in Mumbai, with savings accounts, deposits, loans and the Cent Mobile app. Because many people use it, scammers pretend to be Central Bank of India in SMS, WhatsApp and email messages. This page lists the lies they usually tell and how to check before you act.
Lines used in fake Central Bank of India messages
- Central Bank of India account frozen, send your PAN and Aadhaar to unfreeze
- Cent Mobile update required, install it from this link
- Central Bank of India debit card expired, pay renewal charge here
- Your Central Bank of India pension is delayed, verify with OTP
How to verify it yourself
Install Cent Mobile only from the official store, and type the Central Bank of India website address yourself. Courts and banks do not clear accounts over a phone call demanding quick payment. A delayed pension is best checked at your branch, with your passbook in hand. Subsidy claims on a home loan are handled in the loan paperwork. A code sent to your phone belongs to you alone, so never pass it on.
Quick checklist
- Do not tap links or call numbers inside the message.
- Open the official app, or type the official website yourself, and look for the same notice.
- Never share an OTP, PIN, CVV or password with anyone, including "staff".
- If money moved, call 1930 and your bank at once.
