On a call the pressure is live: no time to read, no time to check, and a rule that you must not tell anyone. Ration Card e-KYC and Subsidy Scam is one of the ways this shows up: Messages warn that your ration card will be cancelled unless you complete e-KYC through a link or app, then take Aadhaar details and OTPs.

What ration card e-kyc and subsidy scam looks like over the phone

The scammer copies the language of local announcements about e-KYC drives and sends it to community and neighbourhood groups. The sender may use a government-looking profile picture.

What to do

  5. Tell a family member and report the number on the Sanchar Saathi portal (Chakshu facility).
  6. Hang up. A real bank or office will not mind that you call them back.

Safeavio Sentinel lets a family member paste or share the message into the scam check, which explains why it looks risky: a threat of cancellation, requests for Aadhaar and an OTP. The link check can show lookalike addresses. A parent can set up the family so younger members help older ones check messages. It does not know your real ration record, so confirm status at the official office.

Check it before you tap or pay

Safeavio Sentinel is a made-in-India Android app: paste a message or link, or scan a QR code, and get a plain verdict with the reasons. It helps you spot a scam; it does not promise to stop every one.
