Learn how this landlord trick drains accounts.
What army transfer tenant advance scam looks like through a QR code
- A QR code sent on WhatsApp "to receive money".
- A code on a poster or flyer with a prize or a job offer.
- A QR that opens a payment screen with an amount already filled in.
The fake tenant calls a few hours after the listing goes up. He speaks politely, offers more than the asking rent, and says he cannot visit because of duty. The uniform photo and the ID are meant to end any doubt, as many owners are glad to trust a person who sounds disciplined and in a hurry.

- A QR scan or PIN request to receive an advance.
- A 'Rs 1 test payment' that supposedly checks your account.
- A code looks stuck on top of another one.
- The link opens an app download instead of a payment page.
