Remote Access App Bank Support Scam by SMS
How it looks by SMS, the red flags and what to do.
On SMS the scammer has only a few lines to work with, so they use a deadline, a threat or a prize and a link that must be tapped "now". Remote Access App Bank Support Scam is one of the ways this shows up: A fake bank or refund agent asks you to install a screen-sharing app, then uses your banking apps while you watch.
What remote access app bank support scam looks like by SMS
- A shortened or oddly spelled link that does not match the real website.
- A request to call a number, install an app or share an OTP.
- Several near-identical messages arriving together from different senders.
The scammer starts with a reason to need your phone: a cashback, a refund, a loan waiver or an account problem. They sound calm and professional, and they say they can fix it quickly if you let them see the issue. They name an app from the store and ask you to install it, which seems safe because it is a known tool that has real uses.

Safeavio has a Remote help feature in which a person you trust can see your screen and tap on it from the portal only after you approve it on the phone, so you stay in control. The phone scan can point out apps that look risky. Safeavio cannot stop a screen-sharing session you set up yourself, so never install such an app for a caller.
