Fake Trading App Withdrawal Fee and Tax Scam
A trading app shows large profits but asks for tax, a deposit or an unlock fee before you can withdraw. The profits were never real.
You invested through an app, watched your balance grow and then tried to withdraw. The app now says your profit is under review and you must pay tax, a margin or a security deposit first. Each payment seems to bring you closer to the money. In truth there is no market account behind the screen. The app is a display, and the demand to pay more is how the scam finishes.
How the scam works
The scammer built or rented an app that looks like a trading platform, with charts, a wallet, buy and sell buttons and a customer support chat. Deposits go to bank accounts that change often. After your first deposit, trades appear to win. A small withdrawal may even be allowed to build confidence, which encourages larger deposits.
When the balance becomes large, withdrawals are blocked. A support agent says that profits above a limit need a tax payment of a percentage, or the account needs a minimum margin, or an anti-money-laundering check. The explanations use real-sounding terms. You are told that the sum will be returned along with the profit when the process is complete.
The payoff is each of these payments, and each one is followed by a new reason to pay again. At some point the account is declared locked for a rule violation or the support chat stops answering. The profits never existed and the deposits are gone. Some victims are then contacted by a 'recovery agent' who asks for a fee to retrieve the funds, which is a second scam.
An example of what you may see
Example support chat (invented): 'Your profit of Rs 4,20,000 is ready. As per rules, 20 percent tax of Rs 84,000 must be paid before withdrawal. After payment, your full amount will be credited within 24 hours. If you do not pay today your account will be frozen.' Real brokers deduct taxes and fees from your account on their own statements and do not ask you to pay a private account first. Look at who benefits if you act without thinking.
This example is written for illustration. Real messages change their wording, names and links all the time.

How Safeavio helps
Safeavio Sentinel's scam check reads the support chat you paste and flags a withdrawal that needs a payment, a tax paid to a private account and a deadline. The phone scan reviews installed apps, permissions and apps from outside a store. Money Shield asks you to verify before you send money. It cannot verify a broker or recover funds, so keep your evidence and report quickly.
Check it before you tap or pay
Safeavio Sentinel is a made-in-India Android app: paste a message or link, or scan a QR code, and get a plain verdict with the reasons. It helps you spot a scam; it does not promise to stop every one.

Questions people ask
Why does the tax have to be paid first?
It does not. Real brokers show taxes and charges on statements and deduct them from your own account. A demand to pay a private account before a withdrawal is part of the scam. Take your time and check before acting.
Will paying the fee release my profit?
No. The profit is a number on the screen. Each payment is followed by another reason to pay. Stop, save evidence and report so the accounts can be flagged. A short pause costs nothing and can save a lot.
A recovery agent contacted me. Can they help?
Be very careful. People who contact victims offering to recover money for a fee are usually scammers too. Use only official channels like 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in. When unsure, ask someone you trust first. Use only official apps and sites you open yourself.
