Card Blocked Fake Executive Call Scam by SMS

How it looks by SMS, the red flags and what to do.

A text message is the cheapest way for a scammer to reach thousands of phones at once, and the sender name can look like a bank, a courier or a government office. Card Blocked Fake Executive Call Scam is one of the ways this shows up: A caller says your debit or credit card has been blocked and offers to reactivate it, then asks for card details and an OTP.

What card blocked fake executive call scam looks like by SMS

The scammer starts with a calm but serious tone and mentions your bank by name. Some use caller ID tricks to show a number that looks official. They say that a transaction in another city has been flagged and that the card will stay blocked unless you confirm your identity. The sense of being protected makes you cooperate, and fear of a blocked card in an emergency does the rest.
