Right to erasure
Right to erasure is your ability to ask a company to delete your personal data once it is no longer needed for the purpose it gave.
Right to erasure: The right to erasure means you can ask a company to delete your personal data when you withdraw consent or when it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for. Some data can still be kept where another law requires it, such as for tax records.
In practice, you find a privacy or settings page in the app, or write to the contact named in the privacy policy. State clearly which account and data you want removed. Keep a screenshot of the request and any reply. Many apps have a delete account option that removes data after a short period. Be patient, as a company may take some days to complete a request.
Deleting the app from your phone does not erase your account on the company's servers. Take care of the order: first download any data you want, then request deletion, then uninstall. Do not send extra ID documents to a company just to prove who you are unless you are certain you are on its official site. The Safeavio data export and delete tools work for Safeavio data only.
Tips
- Use the delete account option in the app, not just uninstalling.
- Download anything you want to keep before asking for deletion.
- Keep a copy of your request and the reply.
